Nomad Events specialises in stag do weekends in the Lake District. We run the whole weekend: a private tipi campsite north of Grange-over-Sands, near the southern end of Lake Windermere, and an activity day in Coniston with qualified instructors. We've been doing it since 2012.
We also run hen weekends and corporate team days, and hire out tipis and bell tents for weddings and events across Cumbria.

Why stag groups book with us

  • One booking, whole weekend. Camp, activity day and BBQ come from one company, so there’s nothing to stitch together and one person to call.
  • Stag groups welcome. It’s a private site with open space around your camp area, not a family campsite with rules about groups.
  • Proper adventure. Ghyll scrambling up Church Beck, raft building on Coniston Water, abseiling and climbing, with qualified instructors and all kit included.
  • Everyone together. Tipis are the social space and bell tents are for sleeping, all round one fire pit.
  • A clear price. £165 per person for a group of 8+, covering two nights, a full activity day and gas BBQ hire.

How a stag weekend works

  1. Friday: Arrive at your private camp, fire up the BBQ and settle in round the campfire.
  2. Saturday: Activity day in Coniston, with ghyll scrambling and raft building as the favourite pairing. Then back to camp, or a night out in Kendal.
  3. Sunday: Recovery, pack up, home.

More than stag dos

  • Hen weekends: The same private camp and Coniston activity day, set up for hen groups. Add the BBQ Feast and a cask, or head into Kendal for the night.

Where we are

Our private campsite is in the south of the Lake District, north of Grange-over-Sands, near the southern end of Lake Windermere, and activity days run from our base in Coniston. Our office is in Burneside, near Kendal. It’s easy to reach from the M6, and the nearest mainline station is Oxenholme Lake District, about 2 hours 45 minutes from London Euston.

Stag Dos & Hen Weekends

2 nights at our private tipi campsite, and a full day of ghyll scrambling, raft building, canoeing or abseiling in Coniston.

A typical weekend for 8 people costs £165 per person. That covers camping, a full activity day with qualified instructors and all kit, and gas BBQ hire for the weekend.
