Lake District Outdoor Adventure Activities

Lake District Outdoor Adventure Activities

Nomad Events offer a plethora of outdoor activity adventures, usually in combination with Tipi or Bell Tent accommodation and combined with Stag & Hen and Group Bespoke Packages.

The most fun, engaging day out ever! Whether you want an adrenaline-fueled day of water slides, jumps and abseils or a gentle stroll round the lake, Nomad Events guarantees your group an experience to remember. A guided outdoor activity is great way to explore the hidden corners of the Lake District. Our expert instructors will challenge you and keep you safe. We’ll even join you for a pint afterwards and give you a taste of some local history and culture.

Depending on the activity locations we can usually provide either a packed lunch, a hot lunch, hot showers, changing rooms, with beers or G&Ts at the bar afterwards!

Abseiling

Epic Abseiling (aka Rapelling) down some impressively vast walls of Cathedral-like slate rock, sometimes free-hanging, up to 130ft high. Test your nerve in a safe and controlled environment, surrounded by beautiful Lakeland scenery.

Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing Outdoor Rock Climbing for all abilities and skill levels. There is such satisfaction to be found from topping out a flowing, graceful rock climbing route. The Lake District is considered the birthplace of the modern sport of rock climbing, with some crags known throughout the world, such as Nape’s Kneedle. This is your chance to see what the fuss is all about!

Ghyll Scrambling

If there is one adventure you must try once then Ghyll Scrambling (aka Gorge Scrambling) is it! A wet scramble up and down a creek river bed, often involving small abseils, jumps, slides, wading and swimming. Individuals can challenge themselves as much or as little as they want - challenge by choice - therefore Ghyll Scrambling is suitable for most groups and ages - fantastic fun that will leave you wanting more.

Canoeing

The majestic Canadian Canoe has been used by native American folk for centuries and is a perfect activity to compliment Nomad Events’ Tipi experience. We often use the canoes to go on a journey around the lake, often with coffee and cake along the way. This is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Safe & Insured Actvity Provider

Safety is at the very core of the Nomad Events Ltd ethos. Our highly qualified and experienced team use up-to-date equipment, adhere to industry best practice, and act in line with our Safety and Risk Management (SRM) Policy. We use detailed and ongoing risk assessments to ensure participants get the most from a challenge but are never exposed to unnecessary risk. Nomad Events Ltd is fully insured for outdoor activities and holds public liability insurance.

Raft Building

Raft building is a entertaining way to bring a competitive edge to outdoor challenges. Great for larger groups that can be split into sub-groups that compete against the clock and each other to build a sturdy-as-possible raft with a limited number of materials. Racing the rafts tests their quality of construction and usually ends up with flotsum and jetsom! Its hard to beat raft building and a way of bringing teams together and get the banter flowing.

HIking

There are innumerable Hiking peaks to challenge all in the Lake District. Mountain Scrambling is the next level up and is a mixture of walking and rock climbing. Let us navigate you into the world of scrambling in a structured, guided environment.

Mountain Biking

Cumbrian Mountain Biking is some of the best in the UK. The quiet trails of Kentmere valley or the purpose-built singletrack in Grizedale Forest offer groups of all abilities the flow and challenge they are after. If you have a mixed fitness group then Electric mountain bikes are a great way to level the playing field on the uphills! We work with the best mountain bike guides in the area to bring you quality singletrack and some local secret trails.

Underground Caving

Underground Caving - the under-dog of our adventure offerings - combines many challenges into a day out you won’t forget in a hurry. Caving might sound terrifying but is actually amazingly good fun and very under-rated - if you want to try something different, something esoteric then join us in donning our wellies and waterproofs for an unforgettable underground discovery.
